Tremains Art Deco Weekend 2016

Mid-February saw the annual Tremains Art Deco Weekend return to Napier.   As usual, an awesome weekend celebrating all things Art Deco.

This year I was the only Photographer working with the Art Deco Trust.  It was a huge weekend, with around 40hrs being spent in and around Napier shooting at various events.

Here are a few of my favorite images...

BOOM!

Last night I went out to scout some suitable locations for a possible client of mine who is based in the UK, but wanting some images of the Peak for her new business website.

As is quite often the case, I ended up taking a trip up Te Mata Peak to capture the sunset.

BOOM!...

This is what greeted me over in the distance towards Mount Erin, so on went the long telephoto lens to capture it in all it's Hawkes Bay splendour...

There is a general belief in the photographic community that a landscape image should have a foreground element which creates interest and draws the viewers eye into the image.

Generally, I agree with that train of thought but sometimes an image speaks for itself and just doesn't need to adhere to any set 'rule' or belief.  For me, this is one of those images...

Enjoy!
