...Past Napier Reef Garden...
Love the new structures down at NRG. Image shot with a FujiFilm X-T20, RAW file processed in Lightroom and PS CC with an Acros Film simulation + Red filter applied to darken down the sky and bump overall contrast.
I really love the dynamic range and smooth tones which this little camera can capture. As I've mentioned in a previous post, I bought this camera to be my take-anywhere/walkabout camera, so it hardly ever leaves my side. It's great to have a small camera at the ready and not worry about having to carry around a large DSLR.
As much as I absolutely love my photography career, lately I've found myself not shooting many images just for myself, or just for the fun of it. The 'hobby' side of photography which I enjoyed for many years had all but disappeared. The other day I was tagged in a friends Facebook post asking me to take part in a seven-day challenge:
"Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people, no explanation. Challenge someone new each day."
Previously I've avoided taking part in these FB challenges, mainly because I work long hours and my time is limited. Yesterday while I was in Napier I had the Fuji with me so made a point of stopping off at the Reef Garden so I could shoot something specifically for my friends challenge. This little FujiFilm has re-ignited the desire and given me the ability to shoot anything, at any time and give me great results.
