FAQ
-
What areas do you work in?
Hawke’s Bay is home, and I also have a base in Taupo. I work across the North Island, including Rotorua, Tauranga, and Auckland. I also take on commercial and government projects in Wellington, Christchurch, and other regions when required.
-
Who do you work with?
I work with SMEs, large organisations, government agencies, local councils, marketing teams, and event organisers. Most of my work is commercial, corporate, campaign-focused, or people-based.
-
What types of photography do you specialise in?
I focus on commercial photography, corporate portraits, headshots, lifestyle and editorial-style imagery, architecture/interiors, people-focused storytelling, and event coverage. I also offer AI-enhanced still imagery where it improves the final outcome.
-
Do you shoot headshots?
Yes. Headshots are a core part of what I do for individuals, teams, and large organisations. These sessions typically take place at your premises or on location to make things easy for your team.
-
What’s included in a headshot session?
Headshot sessions include lighting setups that suit your brand, guidance on expression and posture, multiple frames to choose from, and professionally retouched final images. For larger teams, I keep the style consistent across all staff.
-
Do you provide group and team portraits?
Yes. I photograph individuals and full teams, and I can create cohesive staff portraits for websites, LinkedIn profiles, annual reports, and onboarding material.
-
Do you offer AI-generated imagery?
Yes, but it never replaces traditional commercial photography unless a client asks for it. I use AI to support concept planning, pre-visualisation, and specific enhancements that improve the final results.
-
How do you blend AI with photography?
Everything starts with real photography. AI comes in when it helps refine the creative direction, enhance environments, create consistency, or streamline post-production.
-
Do you have fixed pricing?
Fixed pricing applies to headshot packages and some local event work. All other commercial and national projects are priced using cost estimates rather than formal quotes, because each job varies in scale, usage, and logistics.
-
How do your cost estimates work?
I gather your brief, clarify what we’re shooting, understand where the images will be used, and outline the scope. Based on that, I provide a clear estimate for the work involved. If the scope changes, the estimate adjusts accordingly.
-
Do you help with creative direction?
Yes. I can assist with shot lists, visual style development, brand alignment, and mood boards. I also use AI tools to help map out early concepts when that adds clarity.
-
What is your typical turnaround time?
Most headshots and corporate portraits are delivered within a few business days. Larger commercial projects may take longer depending on volume and post-production needs. Timelines are always communicated upfront.
-
Can you travel for shoots?
Absolutely. I frequently travel across the North Island, and I also take on projects in Wellington, Christchurch, and other regions. With bases in Hawke’s Bay and Taupo, travel is straightforward.
-
Do you offer retouching?
Yes. Retouching is included for all delivered images. Headshots receive professional but natural enhancements such as skin clean-up, colour balancing, and subtle corrections.
-
What usage rights do I receive?
Usage rights are defined in the cost estimate. Most businesses receive broad rights for advertising, marketing, websites, and social media. Extended rights can be arranged if needed.
-
How do you deliver the final files?
You’ll receive both high-resolution and web-ready files through a secure online gallery. You can download, share, and organise the files easily across your team.
-
How early should I book?
Headshots and commercial shoots can often be booked at short notice, though advance booking is always recommended. Event dates, especially in peak seasons, fill quickly.
-
Can you handle large teams or multi-location staff shoots?
Yes. I regularly photograph large teams and nationwide groups. Ensuring consistency, efficiency, and a straightforward experience for your staff is a priority.
-
Do you have reviews I can read?
Yes. Client reviews are available on my website. These help give a clear sense of how I work, the service I provide, and the results clients receive.
-
What makes you different from other photographers in Hawke’s Bay, Taupo, and the North Island?
I bring a commercial mindset, practical experience, a calm approach, and a blend of traditional photography with modern AI tools. This creates sharper results, more options, and smoother production for businesses, agencies, and government clients.
