Matariki, Reflection and Planning

Matariki is a meaningful time in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is associated with remembering those who have passed, appreciating the present, and looking ahead to the year to come.

For businesses, that does not mean treating Matariki as a marketing event. It simply offers a timely and respectful reminder to pause, reflect, and think intentionally about what comes next.

That same thinking applies to how your business presents itself. Your photography should reflect who you are now, not who you were several years ago. If your team, premises, services, clients or direction have changed, your imagery may need to change with it.

For Hawke’s Bay and Taupō businesses, winter is also a practical planning window. Spring and summer often bring more tourism activity, conferences, events, campaigns and client-facing work. Organising updated photography in July or August gives you time to plan properly, shoot well, and have your images ready before the busier months arrive.

Whether you need updated team portraits, refreshed website imagery, workplace photography or a broader brand image library, this is a useful point in the year to have the conversation.
